« Je n'attendais pas grand chose de cet établissement à part un lieu simple et propre pour faire étape. J'ai découvert une chambre au charme désuet (passons), à la moquette crasseuse et baignée par une forte odeur de renfermé et tabac froid. La climatisation était assourdissante et il a fallu l'éteindre pour fermer l'oeil. Mais le comble fut de découvrir après une mauvaise nuit que j'avais été piquée par des punaises de lit, avec une belle allergie en prime. La médiocrité du petit-déjeuner...

« The Paddler's Retreat is REALLY out of the way. We enjoyed our stay however, people need to understand that all services are limited. Due to Covid there is only a very limited breakfast, mostly cold. If you want tea, you will need to use the microwave. The range is not available. Furthermore, the options are more limited for dinner. There is only a gas station / limited eatery that stop serving at 6:30pm. The little town, Confluence is about 5 miles away. « The Lodge is on a lake and it is very peaceful there. I stayed there because there is a restaurant attached and it was convenient. But the restaurant wasn’t open for breakfast and the coffee bar/ alcohol bar didn’t open until 4 pm, so wasn’t useful. Also the first floor is on the second floor and no elevator so if you have any physical disability, this isn’t the place for you. But if you love to golf or use the lake, it’s great. I saw several families also staying there. »
